IMPORTANT GARBAGE INFORMATION

As a reminder, please be aware  of these important items: 

  • Excess garbage may result in an additional charge.
  • Yard waste is to be bagged or canned. Tree branches should be bundled in 4-foot length and no more than 18 inches in diameter.
  • Pick up is between 7 am and 7 pm. Containers need to be at the street prior to 7 am but no earlier than 7 pm the day prior. Containers must be removed from curbside by 7 am the next morning.
  • Contractors of any type, carpet, cabinet, tree services, lawn maintenance, etc. must remove all debris, yard waste and tree debris at their own expense.

Report a Concern or Request Service

The Public Works Solid Waste Division promotes the health, safety and aesthetics of the community through continued monitoring of the residential and commercial garbage, trash and recycling collection operations. The division ensures these operations are done in accordance with the city's solid waste management contract and according to city ordinances and resolutions. The Solid Waste Division also oversees the city’s street sweeping services.

The City of Port Orange has an exclusive Franchise Agreement with Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. to provide you with the most proficient, top quality collection services for all of your garbage, recycle, yard waste and bulk material collection needs.  

Service to Handicapped

Upon request, door service to handicapped residents will be provided if there are no able-bodied persons in the household. Requests, along with a doctor’s statement, should be submitted to: Solid Waste Manager, 407 Virginia Avenue, Port Orange, FL 32127 or faxed by your Doctor to (386) 756-5365.
